File Manager in Docky doesn't work

Asked by William Pabon

I implemented macbuntu on my 10.04 LTS. Everything works fine (up to know) on the desktop except that the File Manager icon on Ducky does not start the application. All other icons work OK. Is there a way to fix this?

Sometimes, using the "Pin to Dock" action doesn't create a good link between Docky and the launcher. A solution here is that you first add a File Manager shortcut to the desktop, then drag the desktop icon to Docky.

Since you're using the Macbuntu Transformation Pack, adding a File Manager Shortcut to the desktop might prove a bit difficult, unless you bring back your old Ubuntu Menu Bar, and then choosing the 'Places' pane and drag one of the places (preferably "Computer" or "Home") to the desktop, then dragging it to Docky. It's a bit painful to do, but at least it will make future openings of the File Manager more painless. (PS: Don't delete the shortcut on the desktop, as it will make the Docky launcher invalid)

I personally don't know why this sometimes happen, but I indeed hope it will be fixed in our near future.
