Prism launchers on a dock?

Asked by Esther Strom

I use the Prism extension for Firefox to make standalone "apps" from certain websites (Yahoo Mail, Google Calendar, etc.). When you create an app, what it really does is create a desktop shortcut (desktop configuration file (application/x-desktop)) that you then give permission to execute as a program. The command is something like this:

 "/usr/lib/firefox-3.6.10/firefox" -app "/home<email address hidden>/prism/application.ini" -override "/<email address hidden>/override.ini" -webapp <email address hidden>

I've then been able to drag that icon onto a panel and launch the app from there. When I tried dragging the icon onto my schmancy new Docky dock, the icon displays with no problem, but clicking on it does not launch the app. Did I do something wrong, or is this not supported?

Docky is not able to properly match Prism or Chromium apps properly. There are open bugs for both.

Can you help with this problem?
