GSOC idea - now playing docklet

Asked by Ewan Davies

I would like to participate in the google summer of code (GSOC) and contributing to one of my favourite desktop applications would be really nice. I want to improve the (already awesome) media player control features of docky, I saw a great video player mockup by DanRabbit... I won't put my proposal here, (I could add it to the go-docky wiki) but would like to know who to contact, whether there is in fact a docky developer willing to mentor, etc. I believe docky could fall under the mono-project organisation (which was accepted by google) as it is written in C# on top of mono, right? Their http://www.mono-project.com/StudentProjects#Applications page seems to suggest this.

While I appreciate your enthusiasm for Docky, there really aren't any devs that are available and can mentor a GSoC project. If you do wind up implementing something on your own we would be glad to merge it into our trunk (after a review).
