DockbarX

how can i setup dockbarx + xcompmgr + openbox (lxde) ?

hi. i would really love to use a simple desktop based on openbox.
i've been trying to compose one but i lack the experience.
i tryed openbox + tynt2 but i can't have an applications menu in the panel, like i should.
can i use dockbarx to replace tynt2 for that?

DockbarX should be a good choise for this yes.

If you use ubuntu, install dockbarx like this:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:dockbar-main/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install dockbarx

Install cardapio to get a appliacation menu in dockbarx dock.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:cardapio-team/unstable
sudo apt-get install dockbarx-applet-cardapio

hi. i just tried but it seems there may be some problem on my part - i use ubuntu gnome remix 12.10
i installed dockbarx and couldn't get it to start in openbox and i uninstalled it and i also uninstalled openbox.

on your reply i installed LXDE dockbarx and cardapio but for some reason i can only run dockx as sudo,
if i type dockx in terminal brings up this info
