What's the difference between the original dockbar and dockbarx?

Asked by Esther Strom

Summary pretty much says it all... is there a comparison chart somewhere that would show me the differences between the original dockbar and the dockbarx applets?

No, there isn't as far as I know.

DockbarX should have all the features vanilla Dockbar has and a few more.
DockbarX has
- a more advanced theme engine (and quite a few themes),
- more advanced launcher system,
- recent and most used "jumplists" (using zeitgeist)

just to name something. Vanilla Dockbar should be a bit faster, a bit smaller memory usage, has a clearer preference dialog and you might say it's better integrated with gnome when it comes to looks. Talika beats both DockbarX and Dockbar in those areas though...

Try them both and see which one that suits you better.

Can you help with this problem?
