Inexplicable Do crashes in Jaunty

Asked by Kayvee

My desktop is almost always ON and so is Do. However, every once in a while I come back to my desktop after a night of inactivity and notice that Do is not running anymore. It apparently crashed or just stopped! Why does that happen? Is it just happening to me? (I have two computers and both of them show similar behavior) Is there a log or something that would show what the error was?

Run Do with --debug from a terminal, or edit your launcher to use --debug >
/path/to/file

Editing the launcher (via 'Main Menu') to read 'gnome-do --debug > /home/xxx/do-debug.log' as the command does not do anything. I do not see a do-debug.log file in my home folder. However, executing the same command from a Terminal creates a file. So, I am going to try it that way and see what happens...

I am marking it as solved for now. I now know the way to find out the error. I will update this post with the info I get.
Thank you.

My Do used to crash almost once every day at the time I posted the question above... now I do not see it happening as frequently. I collected debug information for a few times but did not see anything unusual in it. So, I never bothered to post that here.

That said, I wonder if it is an issue with one of the plugins. t4ggs: what plugins do you have enabled in your Do? In my case, I have: GNOME Dictionary, Google Calendar, Google Search, and Pidgin enabled.

I did not do anything! I don't know why it was crashing; nor do I know
why it stopped. I am just happy it stopped... Sorry for not being much
of a help here.
