Do

When do my files and folders get re-indexed?

Asked by lasers

Hello.

I do not know if I should consider this as a bug in first place. So I wanted to ask something first.

GNOME Do is a very excellent application! I loved it and I can't live without it. However, I noticed a minor issue -- (For me, that is). When you added files under the specific directories that were stated in "Files and Folders" plugins, it does not show up on GNOME Do. I'll have to shut down GNOME Do and restart it before it detected the said file (on Desktop, that is).

In my situation, I use a GNOME Do plugin to take a screenshot, then I proceed to use ImageShack plugin to upload the image.... Hence an issue. GNOME Do do *not* see the newly created image file that sits on the Desktop.

Please do advise. And I hope my two-bit contribution do helps you further by shaping GNOME Do more into a much-already robust application. Thanks! :>

It is not indexed immediately, you'll have to wait for the next indexer
cycle. Give it a couple of minutes.

Hi again. What is GNOME Do's interval cycle? 3 minutes? 5 minutes? Is there a command in GNOME Do that'll start the cycle manually? If not, perhaps a plugin that could do the said function in the future?

It wasn't too long. Thank you. Problem solved. There should be a command that start the index manually. <_<

There really should be a command to force indexing of new files. It is annoying to take a screenshot then want to use something like the imageshack uploader only to have to wait 3 minutes for it to re-index all the files.
