Plugin development: manual instructions out of date

Asked by Watson-dominic

Hi there, I love Gnome DO and was wanting to try and play with creating some plugins / fixing some out of date plugins. The website that hosted the instructions is now dead it would seem but I managed to find the instructions on the internet archive:

https://web.archive.org/web/20120622151156/http://do.davebsd.com/wiki/Getting_started_with_writing_plugins

These instructions don't work for me, however. In particular, opening the DoPlugins.mds file in a recent version of MonoDevelop just opens the file as XML, no projects or anything else are loaded. I suspect that MonoDevelop has moved on and abandoned legacy support for that format?

Anyways, if this project is not dead, I am able to help out with putting up a static site with up to date content (I am a web person and can setup the relevant repo in GitHub to help make that happen).

Is there any up to date info for setting up the source for development that is available?

TIA

Dominic
