Quick ref of keyboard shortcuts

Asked by Edoardo Marcora on 2008-06-11

It would be great for newbies like me to have a quick ref showing all the shortcuts available in Gnome-Do. For example, is there a way to cycle between different actions using keys (or combinations of keys, e.g., ctrl+tab) other than arrow keys?

Gnome Do is designed to just be simple. There are no tricky key combos that do anything else. You really only need a launch command, tab, and arrow keys.

The only trickiness can be from the plugins, and that's mainly knowing how they work. This wiki page is the place to go for those tricks.

I understand and appreciate the phylosophy of it, but it would be nice to have the ability (perhaps in the new Preferences>Keyboard pane) to set additional shortcuts for the behavior now assigned to arrow keys. I would, for example, like to assign Ctrl+Tab to Down Arrow and Win+Tab to Right Arrow.

I see, so you're not asking for a list of current shortcuts (since there are none), you more have a feature request to be able to add them.

You can definitely try to get a ticket in the system as a wishlist, but to be honest, it's not really in the "spirit" of the project at this point, however patches have a better chance of making things go in.

My question was about existing shortcuts, but since there are none I thought I'd suggest something in that direction. The new keyboard shortcuts pane in the 0.5 preferences seems a bit of a waste for defining just one shortcut. How hard is it to add user-definable shortcuts for the tab and arrow keys? Anyway, mine just wanted to be a suggestion for an already great piece of software.

I would like to support this request as well...unfortunately on my laptop the tab key is not working, and so i'm not able to use gnome-do properly. If there is any chance to realize a patch to configure also the basic shortcuts? That would be great.
