Closing Gnome Do by hitting the shortcut again

Asked by Stephan Weisser

After hitting the shortcut <Super>+<space> to open Gnome Do hitting <Super>+<space> adds a space to the input text. I would have expected that hitting the shortcut again closes Gnome Do.

I am used to another application launcher where this is the normal behavior. It often happens to me that I accidentally open my launcher application. Therefore being able to close it by using the shortcut would come in handy, because otherwise I cannot even change the focus to another window with the <alt>+<tab> shortcut.

You can use the escape key to close Do quickly. I hope this is satisfactory.

This works. Nonetheless I propose to enhance Gnome Do to react with closing the window upon hitting the key combination again.

Thanks a lot
Stephan

I would also like to request this simple feature. I very often open Gnome Do but change my mind about using it, for whatever reason. It would be much preferable if I could close the window the same way I opened it.
