Asked by KhaaL

Is it possible to see a smaller version of the gnome-do box in the future? it's HUGE when I start it on my eeepc :-)

Sure, this is something we should make configurable someday.

I've just pushed a new version of trunk with mini mode (enabled through Configuration Editor). Please try it out and tell me how it goes.

is it acessible through the repo ( deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/do-core/ubuntu gutsy main ) ? I just updated / upgraded with no results.

Also if it's not too much to ask, do tell me which value to change in the relevant file... Thanks!

No, it will not be in the repo for a while. You need to build from source -- you can find instruction on the wiki page: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/GnomeDo/Installation

Once you have that up and running, click the "mini_mode" checkbox in Configuration Editor under /apps/gnome-do/preferences/. Let me know if you get it to work -- I'd love a screenshot.

Great, I'll let you know if I manage to get it to work! (I've yet to compile anything sucessfully yet).

I got the latest bzr and compiled it successfully, but the mini-mode preference didn't appear, it's still just the keybinding and enable updating. Am I missing something? Thanks!

Try starting Do from the command line:

  $ gnome-do --mini

cool I've tried the mini command but it's still too big if I used 800x600 resolution, can I configure the size manually
thanx

The --mini option has been removed. Please select the mini interface in Do's preferences in version 0.6.1 and later.
