voice control with gnome do?

Asked by michael cass

Is it possible now or in the future to integrate voice control (gnome-voice-control or other) into gnome do? It would represent a nice combination of features, assign a keyword to summon gnome-do (eg "Jeeves") then take speech recognition as input and finally have a command to execute ("execute" probably a good choice, but as long as is customizable is all good). You would also need an escape command I guess. The visual feedback and plugins from gnome do would really make voice control more usable and be a nice complement to the keyboard as an input method. So that you can say "jeeves" "volume" "no" "volume" "increase" "execute" to turn up the volume when out of reach of the keyboard.

You'll want to try Julius and VoxForge. Not an undertaking for the faint of heart, but doable.

I'm interested in this question and wishing to help. What about Sphinx?Do you it's better or worse than Julius?

Can you help with this problem?
