resume play without choosing album - can't just _play_ no questions asked

Asked by jzacsh

Hello,

I'm finding no way to cleanly resume music, causing me to use my mouse (tragic!)

Play:
When you right click on rhythmbox's icon the gnome system tray, you can click "play" so as to un-check it (this pauses the current track). This is the equivalent of using Gnome-Do's "pause".

Pause:
When you right click the same system tray icon, you can click "play" so as to re-check it (this plays the current track). This would intuitively be the equivalent of Gnome-Do's "play" (or just re-calling "pause" ? - doesn't do the trick, though) - except, typing "play" forces you choose a specific album in the right-side detail-pane.

Any solutions found for this? What does everyone else do to continue the music they're listening to, or does everyone else use their mouse?

Is this the right place to post this? I would think this would be something the plug-in creator would have to do with and I haven't looked into who that is (if it isn't part of gnome-do development).

Can anyone at least confirm that this is a problem for them as well, so Launchpad's Janitor doesn't just brush this off again.. ?

:)

When I type play on DO the second tab offers me rhythmbox as a default. Using play actually resumes the song from pause. I do not know if this answer you question.

Thanks for the suggestion, but the same doesn't happen on my system. If i type "play" the second pane has every single album (see "screenshot a") in my library, if I try to narrow that down to your suggestion by typing, "rhythm" then nothing comes up (see "screenshot b").

"screenshot a" http://omploader.org/vNDl5dA
"screenshot b" http://omploader.org/vNDl5dw

However, this did get me to try something new:
I typed "rhythmbox" in the first pane of gnome-do and then "play" in the second pane: this continued music where it left off. I think this awfully backwards considering I typed "pause" in the first pane in order to pause music -- I'd never have thought to type things in reverse order to start the music back up.
