Diodon - GTK+ Clipboard Manager

Request for "make plain text" for clipboard entry

Asked by Dan Percival on 2012-10-23

There are times when I copy formatted text into the clipboard and wish to paste just the plain text (no formatting) into another app. On the Mac there was Plain Clip that I could launch to remove formatting from the last entry. Would be good if I could do it within the Clipboard Manager.. something like "Remove formatting from current selection" so that Ctrl-C will paste the plain text

Currently, Diodon has no RichText feature. So per default all copied content will be pasted as simple text.

So simply copy a content and open Diodon with Ctrl+Alt+V and choose the newly added item. It should then be pasted as simple text.

When the Issue #871319 will be implemented though, do have a plugin to implement plain text would be a good idea. I have added it up to the ideas of plugin blueprint. (https://blueprints.launchpad.net/diodon/+spec/ideas-for-plugins)

Thanks,
Oliver
