You mean like this? https://help.ubuntu.com/10.04/serverguide/C/openldap-server.html Or this? https://help.ubuntu.com/10.04/serverguide/C/samba-ldap.html If you have a specific need in mind, you will have to say what it is.

Well .. I work on a university which, unfortunately, uses a microsoft active directory to handle user accounts. Both jabber and email services use ldap to authenticate and email clients, such as Evolution and Thunderbird, allow to have contac books on LDAP Servers, in a manner that they auto complete addresses directly from the servers .. does this clarifies things a bit?
Best regards,
Bahr.

Yes. Right out of me expertise... :) You need LDAP client integration on Evolution, and other apps. However, I think you will have to fix this app by app.

Well .. what I'm asking is whether or not is planned or possible that dexter would support evolution-like ldap contact books...

Bahr.

The answer is, if libfolks gets support for LDAP, then Dexter will also support it...

Can you help with this problem?
