Are there plans to integrate Dexter Contacts with Geary?

Asked by Craig Weber

I'm curious if there are plans to integrate Dexter Contacts with Geary? I've read that Geary is slated to use libfolks for contact integration (I know nothing of libfolks), and I was wondering if Dexter Contacts will mesh with this? And if so, will this be handled through Contractor or no?

Dexter Contacts is a front-end for libfolks, so Geary'll definitely integrate with Dexter :)

That's great to hear! Could you possibly address the last part of my question, about whether or not this integration will be handled through Contractor? Or is this even a valid question (I know nothing about libfolks and my understanding of Contractor is meager at best)? Thank you very much for your help!

No, this has nothing to do with Contractor. Contractor is a way to let apps say: "I can do this kind of thing on this kind of files" (for example, I can set as a wallpaper this image). Apps which implement contractor can tell it: "I have an image, tell me what you can do with it" and the user will see a "Set as a Wallpaper" action in the application.
On the other hand, libfolks is a library that manages contacts. Dexter Contacts lets you edit information you have in libfolks, while Geary will get the list of people you know at libfolk and then use their e-mail address.
I hope to be clear, if there's anything not so clear ask freely
