Can you control brightness on your dell-mini screen?

Asked by Nicola Ferralis

Since I got my mini (end of October 2008), I can't control the brightness of the scree via Fn+9 or Fn+0. The actual GNOME brightness indicator changes status, but there is no actual change in screen brightness. I updated BIOS from the initial A00 up to A04, with no success.

I wonder how many people actual have this problem.

Thanks for any insight.

It used to work on my mini, but stopped yesterday. I'm going to have a look, but it seems unrelated to recent updates.

When I first got the mini, brightness control worked fine. After updating the bios to A04, I have noticed that it occasionally gets stuck with brightness at the max setting. However, if I reboot, the problem goes away and I can control brightness again.

Can you help with this problem?
