Asked by gio_avanti

Hi guys

I have got a Dell Inspiron 910 mini - Ubuntu Hardy 8.04 Version

I tryed yesterday to connect an external monitor, and i think i made some wrong variation to the settings.

Today, turning it on, it started in provvisory graphic mode.

Can you tell me please which graphic driver and wich monitor i can select (hoping to find them in the available list)

PS: i am italian, sorry for my laguage mistakes :)

Thank's!

Hey gio,

what exactly do you mean by "provisory graphics mode"? I suppose the screen resolution on your netbook display is wrong? In that case use "System" > "Preferences" > "Screen Resolution" to configure your screen resolution.

Anway, I would advise you, to not use the "graphics driver" tool at all, the "screen resolution" tool should be sufficient. Just open it up and click on "Detect Displays". You might have to change the resolution to a more standard value, like 1024x768, as especially TVs sometimes don't support anything else.

I hope this works for you!

Usually Fn+8 works fine for me to enable external monitors in the dell mini...

Can you help with this problem?
