Any ideas out there? The printer in an HP Officejet Pro l7650 which is hard wired into the network.

If you didn't use HPLIP Toolbox I'd suggest you do to enable other features in your printer.

Go to Applications > Add/Remove... and search for HPLIP. Then mark the checkbox and click "Apply Changes" to install it. You will then be able to add new HP printers and multifunctions (including network fax & scanner) with full functionality (including car readers, toner level indicators, etc.).

Once installed HPLIP toolbox is in System > Preferences.

Once again thank you very much.
Small item but can I change the name of the printer? It shows up as
"jetdirect? Can't seem to find a name change option.
cheers

Robin, please open a new question for that. I can't answer it right now and others won't see it if it's in the same question that's marked solved.
Specify if you are using HPLIP or not when you ask it in a new question.
