Dell Mini 9 doesn't start up, shows Status:drdy error

I just purchased my daughter a mini laptop from dell andit operates on unbutu I cannot get it to start.I push start and it shows status:drdy error and error UNC and a couple of other lines. please help.This was a christrmas gift.

Hi,

With "it operates on unbutu", do you mean that Ubuntu was installed by default? Then you should go back to the store, it is not normal that a brand new computer does not start properly.

If this was indeed a machine that came with Ubuntu preinstalled, you need to call Dell Linux Hardware support at 1-866-622-1947. Have your service tag ready and make sure you state this is a hardware problem.
