Sierra Wireless USBConnect Mercury Aircard is not being recognized

Asked by bill castillo

Greetings,

I have a customer that purchased a Dell Mini laptop with Ubuntu operating system on it. They signed up through AT&T for an aircard. The aircard is the AT&T USBConnect Mercury aircard. I am completely new to Ubuntu and have no clue how to install this aircard so they can get online.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Please look at this link: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=927078&highlight=Mercury+Aircard

So please test the Aircard using newest version of Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex (version 8.10)

Regards,

Mark

Hi Bill

Does AT&T provide any support or software for Ubuntu ? It would help if they at least know you are running Ubuntu.

Was this card sold as part of a deal with the computer ?

Intrepid is not certified for that system, as such you will have to rely entirely on community resources for any future support if you install that. However it does have better support for such connectivity.
