Using Deja Dup together with other backup software

Asked by Removed by request

Actually I was only making hourly backups using Back In Time. Because Back In Time can not encrypt backups I decided to use Deja Dup for to place off-site backups in my Dropbox.com account to increase the security of my files.
Now I would like to know if this can cause problems using two backup clients together. I don't know if Deja Dup checks for archive bits or changes them while backing up my files. I hope you will let me know if it is a good or bad idea to have two backup clients doing a job on the same directories.

I don't know about Back In Time, but I know Deja Dup won't cause any problem like that. It doesn't change the files to be backed up. And I'm sure Back In Time doesn't either. It would be doing something unusual if so.

Of course, just make sure to not have either app backup the other's output files. It wouldn't cause a problem, but you'd end up backing up lots of data twice.
