What algorithm is used to encrypt data?

Asked by Alexey Nedilko

I've found no technical details about encryption algorithm used by Deja-Dup. I'm a kind of security geek, so I don't feel comfortable when I'm said my data is just 'encrypted' :). I tend to find out, what is the encryption algorithm, the key size? If it's the symmetric cipher, what's the mode of operation?

Could you please shed some light on this?

With best regards,
Alexey

It's symmetric gpg encryption. The nuts and bolts of it are handled by duplicity (http://duplicity.nongnu.org) and gnupg.
