restaurar copia - luego de reintalar ubuntu 17-10

Antes de hacer una reinstalación de ubutu 17.1, realicé una copia , suando la aplicación predeterminada de ubutu. Luego de hacer la instalación, y cuando intenté restaurar los archiso copiados que se encuentran en un disco externo, el programa no puede identificar las carpetas con la información. dice que en dirección no hay copias, o archivos con copia...

Los archivos están... en el disco externo... ¿qué hago? es inoformación muy importante
