Deja-dup don't restore old backup after ubuntu 17.10 reinstallation

Asked by gianni on 2018-02-05

I had in the past, save backups in un external disk. I have had problem with ubuntu 17.10 - 32 bit, and i have reinstall 17.10. But now Deja.Dup says: you haven't old backups. Someone said me that is possible also with terminal make this action. Its thrue?
If positive, could you send me the instructions. Also, if possible, how to restore single files or directories, because it is not clear how to use restore.

Thanks a lot,

Does your external hard drive have a bunch of duplicity-* files on it? That is your backup data that deja-dup is trying to find.

Can you help with this problem?
