dual boot back up reccomendation with Win XP

I am moving over to Ubuntu...if I just wanted to back up mostly docs and a large amount of Bookmarks in both Win XP and Ubuntu what software would you suggest that is open source please. I have a separate external hard drive for this operation...I currently use CrashPlan and they are dropping their free status
