Spaning backup disks

Is there an option where it can span disks? I would like to use a series of 250 gig laptop drives to backup data. Once the drive is full, perhaps there could be a message to change disks, and continue the backup. Is that possible?
I was just thinking about a data center I worked in, where the LTO1 would just swap tapes when full.
I guess the other option is to use a different disk for each backup; say for each week, a different disk.

Thoughts?

No, there's no support for that right now.

And it's a little out of scope for what is intended to be a very dead simple, my-first-backup program.
