How can I force a full backup?

Asked by Aaron Whitehouse

How can I force Deja Dup to do a full backup instead of an incremental?

I just tried manually restoring my backups as a test and it displayed a few errors. Reading bug reports, I'm pretty sure the underlying problem should have been fixed in my upgraded version of duplicity, so I would like to force a full backup.

If I can't force through Deja Dup, what is the easiest way to see the duplicity command that Deja Dup is using behind the scenes (so that I can run it manually with the "full" option)?

Thanks!

One way (maybe not the best) is to remove the backup directory. You can find out where it is in the Backups applet under System Settins as Storage / Folder. Remove it and the next backup will be a full backup. You likely want to copy it somewhere or just rename it just in case though.

Can you help with this problem?
