Restore on a fresh install ?

Asked by Nico64

Hello,

What is Déjà Dup can restore a backup (GPG) on a new installation of ubuntu (on a fresh install of a new version (13.10 to 14.04)) ?
Or inevitably it must have the old .cache/deja-dup directory in my new home ?

Thanks

No, you shouldn't need .cache/deja-dup to restore on a new machine. You just need the files in your backup folder.

Ok @mteerry, thank you for the confirmation.

I have restored my home, deja-dup saved me (config, VMs, important documents, RSA keys, ...) !
Thank you very much for this precious software that does its job really well
