FTP backups made into /home/user/, not into real FTP address

Asked by guirec

Hi,

I have a drive connected to my ADSL box. The box has a server on it, allowing FTP access to files and folders on that remote drive.
So I can access and browse this drive using the files manager, at this address:
ftp://freebox-server.local/My%20Book

Then I have tried to make backups into that remote drive using déjà dup. I have tried with both FTP and Custom Location, entering that address as the destination folder for the backup:
ftp://<email address hidden>/My%20Book

The backup is done, ... but into
/home/user/ftp: on my PC.

How can I do backups on the remote FTP drive, not on my PC ?

I found what the problem was: remote drive was not mounted, even if it was visible from the file manager.
So I changed /etc/fstab to mount it automatically when starting up.
Then back to the Deja Dup interface, I changed the destination folder to the mounted destination which I defined as /mnt/MyBook.
