Backup finishes but does not backup /home/sci/.dbus

Asked by Andrew McKelvey

Hi, I'm unsure what .dbus is and why this error appears at the end of each backup.

It says:

Backup Finished
Could not back up the following files. Please make sure you are able to open them.
/home/sci/.dbus

Also not sure if this is the correct place to ask this question. Just moved to Ubuntu from Windows 8 and was unable to google this.

Thanks!

Welcome to Ubuntu! :)

That is an interesting error. It means that for whatever reason, Deja Dup cannot read the ~/.dbus folder. Which isn't a big issue. That folder isn't important.

I bet you could fix this by entering the line at the bottom of this message [1] into a Terminal. But really, you shouldn't have to... Something weird happened in the past.

[1] chmod u+rwx ~/.dbus

This issue is still open.. I selected in Ubuntu Backups app settings to remove ~/.dbus etc... but it still tries to backup that folder!?!

Folders to Save: Home (mine)
Folders to Ignore
Trash
~/Downloads
~/.cache
~/.dbus
~/.thumbnails
....

ubuntu 14.04.03 LTS
