UbuntuStudio 13.04 and Deja-dup file manager integration

Asked by Bengt Nilsson

I upgraded ubuntu studio to 13.04 and re-installed deja-dup.
Now there is no right-click menu item "restore files..."in/to the current folder andymore in the file manager.
Is it possible to get this nice function back?

Ubuntu studio uses Xfce window manager, not Gnome. Mayne thi is the issue?

Yep. Like Dropbox, Deja-Dup's file manager integration is with Nautilus (Ubuntu default file manager). Thunar (xfce default file manager) won't have that integration.

The integration worked in a previous version of ubuntu studio, version 12.04.
Is the ubuntu studio window manager different in 13.04 vs 12.04?

12.10 used Nautilus for everything, according to this: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QuantalQuetzal/ReleaseNotes/UbuntuStudio. Maybe 12.04 used the same thing?

If you're not using Nautilus/don't have Nautilus, then you could install it (sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get install nautilus) and use it (and perhaps set it as the default file manager) to get your integrations back.

I installed nautilus, and yes, when I use it I get the "Restore files.." right-click menu item.
However, when I try to restore something using this menu nothing is ever found.
When I use the deja-dup GUI I can restore, but there it is all or nothing, and since I have about 350GB of backed up music it is a very impractical method if I want to restore a partial loss. Can it be done selectively by command line?

What may be the problem with the nautilus context menu recover method?

I think I got contact with the backup server via nautilus after reboot, now I can restore files via right-click.
Thanks for the advice.
