Always incrimental or periodic full backups?
Does Deja Dup always do an incrimental back-up or does it periodically do a full back-up?
Use case:
Let's say I install and do a full back-up after first installation. Then for argument sake I go 3 or 4 years without a problem and then have a need for a full restore. Will I have to start back at the very first back-up that I did when I originally installed Deja Dup and then incrimentally install each of the successive incrimental back-ups that I had done over the past 3 to 4 years? If that is the case and there was any error in any of the incrimentalls allong the way then could that potentially render the entire back-up incomplete/
If that is the case, is there a way to manually tell it at differnent points to do a brand new "full" back-up and then start building incrimentals ontop of that? I guess one option would be to reinstall Deja Dup and point it to a new location or different folder at the same storage medium that I had been using before and then do a new back-up to it. Would that be a choice of last resort to capture a full back-up at intervals?
Thanks again. It is a fantastic and easy to use program and special thanks to all those who maintain it. I just wanted to make sure I understood how it was treating full/incrimental over time.
Thanks again.
