restore a file

Asked by Pedroski

I used deja-dup to back up my home directory to an external HD. Due to a recent crash while using Libre Office, I lost a file, quizzes1.odt. It now has no content. I would like to restore it.

Can I somehow tell deja dup to just restore that file?

If I restore the whole home directory, will newer files be overwritten? Eg, my class attendance file, which of course changes every day. I wouldn't want to overwrite that with an older version. Also, if I do a back up now, I will simply back up the ruined, empty version of my quizzes1.odt.
