Removing earlier backups after uninstalling Deja Dup

Asked by Asoka Dissanayake

I am wondering if there is a way to remove backups made to UbuntuOne using Deja Dup. I have switched to a simpler backup tool and have uninstalled Deja Dup. However, UbuntuOne continues to download those earlier backups. If there is a command to 'purge' all backups which were made when using Deja Dup, maybe the problem will be solved.

The easiest way is probably to log in to your Ubuntu One account (https://one.ubuntu.com/files) and remove the directory with your backup files.

Thanks Michael, your suggestion worked. Will keep on updating information about any issues that may arise.

In fact, this deletion was necessary to prevent automatically downloading the files every time UbuntuOne is connected to the computer, as it will increase data usage resulting in increased billing from the ISP. If there was an option to download previously backed up files only on demand, this problem would not have arisen.
