Does Déjà Dup make a backup for all user accounts on my pc or just for mine?

Asked by Michael Satke

On my pc there are five users. I am the admin and have been making weekly backups (/etc, /home, /usr/local, /var) with Déjà Dup using my account for a few months. It seems to have backupped all user data from /home and its subdirectories.

--> But does it really backup everything from the other users? <--

I am not sure if runs as root. I simply installed it via Synaptic. I have searched the documentation for this topic, but have not found an answer yet.

I hope someone can tell, thanks in anticipation, Michael

It runs as your user. So it can only back up what that user has permission to read.

Can you help with this problem?
