Can the Oneric version of Deja Dup be backported to Lucid?

Asked by Mark Schouten

I really like the Deja Dup in Oneiric. The features to restore missing files and revert to older versions of files integrated in Nautilus are great.

The version in Lucid lacks the restoration of missing files, which makes it 'unfinished' for this LTS version. Since Lucid will be supported until 2013 (right?), it would be cool if the Oneiric version could be backported to Lucid, with all the same features. That way, Lucid has a mature backuptool as well.

Thanks.

Sorry, unfortunately, the version in 10.10 and up require newer basic libraries than 10.04 LTS has. So a backport is non-trivial and not planned.

I will backport important fixes to duplicity and deja-dup as needed while 10.04 LTS is supported, but not major features like newer releases have.

Can you help with this problem?
