How do I specify a NAS folder for the destination?

Asked by Car Dippel

I have a computer, running Ubuntu 11.04, attached to a windows network. The workgroup is home. The folder I want to backup into is on a NAS.

    \\BUFFALO\Backups\Lange

on a Microsoft Windows network. I can connect to the NAS using the Fies & Folders icon. How do I specify this in Déjà Dup? I keep getting an Unable to mount destination error. What do I use for the preferences? I am Linux illiterate. So please explain it to me so even I, newbie can understand it. There is no userid nor password. Thank you. -Carl

1) open the preferences (Edit->Preferences)
2) Select "Windows Share" for the backup location
3) Enter BUFFALO for the server
4) Enter Backups/Lange for the folder

That should work!

cgl.co.in is domain
j0053 is username
192.168.90.15 is my server address

while the same location is accessible from nautilus with same credentials
