Not prompted for SSH password

Asked by Michael Park

As I type this question, Déjà Dup is backing up my system to the cloud. Marvellous!

My SSH credentials are stored seahorse 2.32.0. I wasn't prompted for my SSH password, but I'm assuming that seahorse and Déjà Dup handle authentication automatically behind the scenes? I thought I should check that this is in fact the case?

Thank you.

Yes, Déjà Dup uses the same keyring as your system. So if you have told GNOME to save your SSH password, Déjà Dup can connect to that server without asking you for the password.

Can you help with this problem?
