Feature Request: Automatic unmount

Asked by nisc

Hi,

I couldn't find a page for feature requests, so I will try here.

Deja-dup monitor automatically starts a back up when I plug in my back-up external USB drive. It would be nice if it also offered an option to unmount the drive when the backup is finished. That would make the backup process really simple. Plug-in drive, wait for automount, wait until back-up complete, remove cable.

Ideally this would also work with LUKS-encrypted volumes.

If this is not the right place for feature requests, where should I post them?

Thanks,
Niklas

Questions are more for support requests. For feature requests I generally prefer a bug report. But this is fine too.

This feature request is really the same as bug 780986. Watch that space for the fix (servers and external drives can be handled the same in the code).

It would also be nice to have deja dup try to mount the drive when backup is scheduled, and then automatically unmount it after backup is done. This would guard against ransomeware that encrypts whatever is mounted.

Can you help with this problem?
