Mounting NFS before backup

Asked by wwjd

It's me again. :)

Is it possible to mount a NFS location before backing up with deja-dup?
How would I do this?

Thanks again!

Hmmm. Deja Dup will mount things like external hard drives or remote ssh servers, but I'm not sure about NFS. I don't think NFS is integrated into gvfs, so it would not work like you want.

To do it manually and hackily, you could try to use a deja-dup wrapper that mounted it? Like a custom 'deja-dup' command in ~/.local/bin or something.

Thank you, now I wrote a script which mounts the NFS location before starting deja-dup.

Hello!

I have the same problem.

I have found a lot of backups without data!! I think, in these cases was the windows location, which I will save, not mounted.

Is it not possible, that Deja dup will mount a partition for self???

I think, at least Deja dup should prompt a message windows, if a selected source for backup is not mounted!

I am a linux beginner and I do not know, how I should write a script (or wrapper) for mounting the windows location before starting Deja dup.

Can you please help me for automatic save a selection of folders on a windows location by starting ubuntu?
