username and password not provided to samba server

Asked by Manie Brummer

Hi,

I'm currently trying to run a backup from my pc running fedora 14.

I'm attempting to backup to a samba server, but it fails. I set DEJA_DUP_DEBUG environment variable to 1. It turns out that permission is denied when attempting to write the backup to the specified directory on the samba server.

It would appear that Deja Dup isn't aware of the username and password I use to access this directory. Any ideas on how to resolve this?

Did it not ask for the username and password? Deja Dup is supposed to connect to the server/share itself and ask you for the information.

You have a few things you can try:
1) Open System->Preferences->Passwords and Encryption Keys. Look at your login keyring and find your saved password, if any, for the server. Make sure it's correct and/or delete it.

2) Confirm whether Deja Dup will ask you for the password.

3) Connect to the share in nautilus first. Then try backing up. Deja Dup will use the existing connection if it can.

Let me know if any of that works!

Can you help with this problem?
