Want to Run as root - is this a reasonable use case?
I want to run as root via beesu on Fedora 14. Things I see and worry about.
I loose the ability to connect to a server - the selection list for types of connections is gone - only see custom connection so I fail to be able to connect to my file area on my server. Maybe I'm confused over the URI spec.
Basically I'm wanting to backup /home containing a number of other users home folders etc... It looks like this is really tailored for the the individual user doing/managing their own backups. I'm more so targeting a small workgroup that is mostly coming from Windows to their home folders via Samba. In a simple admin role, I want to setup an administrative user that can run deja-dup as a privileged user that can backup and restore all of /home (well actually other possible folders too - but necessarily looking for full DR capabilities - but include something like /etc so I also capture most system config files).
The tool looks great and has such a clean simple appearance, it seems to look like a great tool for that simple secretary that I want to be able to log into this admin account and start this admin/root instance of deja-dup and press the backup button...
Thoughts?
