Are files ever unencrypted in destination?

Asked by Shahar Or

Dear Ones,

Déjà Dup sends files to a destination.

Does the destination always hold only the encrypted files?

The other case would be that the files are sent to the destination unencrypted to be encrypted at a later stage of the operation.

In a case where the machine which contains the destination directory is compromised and the former case is true then the data would be safe.

Blessings,
Shahar

The files never exist on the target machine unencrypted. The files are gzipped and encrypted locally, then copied over.
