Can't change password

Asked by Tim

I've read that one changes the Deja Dup password from Applications->Accessories->Passwords and Encryption Keys. When I open Passwords and Encryption Keys, there is nothing in there that indicates a Deja Dup password. Under Passwords Tab, there is only an entry for Login, with sub headings for Desktop Couch and Ubuntu One. I've selected each and went into Properties, but there is no indication of any Deja Dup password. The other tabs are My Personal Keys and Other Keys. Neither of these tabs give me any clue about Deja Dup. Any help is appreciated, as I like to change my passwords periodically, and can't seem to do this with this app.

You can't change the password you use to encrypt the backup. :( Not a greatly useful answer, but there you are.

You could start a new backup set in a new place with a fresh backup... And then I suppose you'd need to delete the remembered encryption password. It should be in "Passwords And Encryption Keys" as an entry called "Deja Dup backup passphrase" under the "login" group.

Well, that's the thing. There is no entry in Passwords and Encryption Keys called Dejua Dup backup passphrase. :( Yet it still asks me for the password, which I supply it. I've tried changing my login password but it doesn't carry over to Deja Dup. My login password does change as it should, but the Deja Dup password remains the original I set it at.

Can you help with this problem?
