Quelques petits problemes d'utilisation (english version below)

Asked by samaris

Merci.

okay english version then :
A few problems with Decibel

- i need to deactivate the automatic size of the player's columns and title. Because if you play a title that is very long the player's borders leave the screen and this is rather annoying. It would be great if each user could set the columns' and player's width.

- could it be possible to choose to add some columns, like "Comments" for example?

- Last.fm Audioscrobbler : is asking for a "Key" (??!) to run. What is that key i've never heard about? Isn't that too complicated? Last.fm's login and password are usually enough with other players.

One last suggestion : a list of the keyboard shortcuts.

Thank you for this great audio player, by the way

Heyo,

I assume last.fm's reference to a key is probably regarding either an incorrect api key or something to do with incorrectly caching the data prior to submission. Does it say anything more specific?

As to the columns, there's a patch here for src/modules/Tracklist.py that contains the changes from version 1.03. It can uglify things if you've got a really wide monitor, but it's an easy hack to solve the problem.

http://bitbucket.org/mfinger/dap_fork/downloads/decibel_tracklist_column_width.patch

It changes the column widths for the tracklist, setting the # and Length columns to smaller sizes and letting trk/art/alb equally divide the rest, gtk then clips the rest of any element to the width of the column. This stops the problem where one really long string can make all the columns move around.

Thank you Mark

About Last.fm's audioscrobbler :
the message is : Please enter the "bunch of keys'" (literal translation) default password to unlock. The application decibel-audio-player is trying to access to default "bunch of keys', which is locked

I never heard about this "bunch of keys" before.
Maybe the solution is to go to
Application/Accessories/Password and key/Password
and then delete the line "Password : default", right?
(right click + unlock or right click + change the password, all this does not work)

About the link to the patch (columns width) :
thanks but i really not familiar with Terminal, sorry. Got a link to where i could learn what to do with this patch, please?

I assume it's trying to access your last.fm password to send it to the server, and your OS is making sure that you want to give access to the application, presumably the password defaults to your login password.

http://linux.die.net/man/1/patch

The patch was written for decibel 1.03 (not sure which version is in Debian's repositories, maybe 1.02), but may work on whichever version you have.

Can you help with this problem?
