Unable to fill in Recovery Map File location

Asked by Leo Newburn

  I am running DDRescue-GUI 2.0.2 on Linux Peppermint 10.
I typed in my image source ok, but when I try to fill in the recovery map file location, I first select "Specify Path/File", then navigate to the drive/Folder as my choice (not my source drive, but on. my host (Peppermint 10) drive.
After clicking Save, that button greys out, and I exit that window with the red x at the top right corner.
But, the map file I chose doesn't show up in the dialog box, it still asks me to select a map file location.
If I choose a (different drive) destination, and click start, I get an error message with an exclamation mark to "Please check the settings before starting the recovery". As a result I can't start the recovery.
I've also downloaded from my software manager repository a program called ddrescueview, in case I need it.

Hello Leo,

Sorry to hear you're having this issue. I'm going to set up a VM with Peppermint 10 to see if I can reproduce this.

In the meantime, can you specify "None" for the map file? You need to open the settings window before starting the recovery to make sure everything is as you want it.

I haven't been able to reproduce this unfortunately.

Could you see if you can do it again, and then exit DDRescue-GUI, saving the log file, and upload it here please?
