What package/s I have to install to satisfy all dependencies for this application? Will they be available on Synaptic?

Hi there,

All you need to install is the python-getdevinfo package (the python 2 version), which you can get at https://www.hamishmb.com/html/downloads.php?program_name=getdevinfo or at https://launchpad.net/getdevinfo/1.x/1.0.2.

I typed pip install getdevinfo, which installed the package. On running gdebi on downloaded gddrescue-gui, same error. Then I typed pip install --upgrade pip, which ran successfully. Again same error.

Ok, I followed your instructions and downloaded getdevinfo from the website. This time the package installed successfully.
