Hi,

Unfortunately, what you're describing is outside of my knowledge. However, you can read this information in the Terminal output box in DDRescue-GUI when performing a recovery (or on the commandline if running ddrescue directly).

My GUI doesn't support setting the input position at the moment, but you can make ddrescue read a different part of the disk if you tick the "Reverse" option in the Settings Window. If you're running ddrescue from the commandline, you can set the input position with:

"-i <positioninbytes>"

Make sure to backup the log file before attempting this in case something goes wrong.

Hope this helps,
Hamish

Antonio Diaz (author of ddrescue) told me there's a bit in the manual about this at:

http://www.gnu.org/software/ddrescue/manual/ddrescue_manual.html#Mapfile-structure

Hope this helps,
Hamish
