Hi,

Thanks for the report. Could you show me the output of the log file when this happens please?

You can do that by starting DDRescue-GUI, closing it when it crashes (with force quit if needed), and copying the logfile in /tmp/ddrescue-gui.log somewhere else (like your desktop), but unfortunately you have to use the terminal to do that, so if you need some better instructions please let me know and I'll help.

Sorry for the slow response and thanks for the bug report,
Hamish

Hi,

Okay, first you need to run DDRescue-GUI and cause the problem you described, then close it (maybe with Force Quit if needed). Then you need to open Terminal, so open Finder, head to Applications, open the Utilities folder, and double click on Terminal.
From there, you can run:

"cp -v /tmp/ddrescue-gui.log ~/Desktop" by copy-and-pasting without the quotes, and then you should see ddrescue-gui.log appear on your desktop, so you will then be able to post the contents here (by opening it in TextEdit or similar and copying and pasting the contents).

Thanks, and I hope this helps,
Hamish
